Join us from 6:30 on Thursday the 18th of July, for a Masterclass tasting event of the Wines of South Africa, host by Chris Mullineux of Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines.
Founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Chris and Andrea Mullineux, with the express intention of creating wines, true to the region and terroir of Swartland. Cultivating their own vineyards, along with working with select growers, they have embraced reasoned, sustainable agriculture, with a commitment to quality and deep respect for the environment. In line with this ethos, In the cellar, apart from minimal amounts of sulphur, nothing is added to or removed from the wine. They do not make use of any yeasts, acids, tannins, enzymes, or fining and filtering agents.
In 2013, the Mullineuxs’ journey into fine wine saw a natural evolution when they partnered with Analjit Singh (BAS) to form Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines,( Leeu being the Afrikaans for ‘lion’) and started the Leeu Passant winery situated on Analjit’s Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. This venture is focused on expressing the broader South African landscape and celebrating the rich winemaking and viticultural heritage of South Africa by working with some of the Cape’s oldest and most exciting vineyards beyond the Swartland region.
Join us at 64 Wine, Thursday July 18th from 6:30pm, for a masterclass in the wines of South Africa. A wonderful opportunity to get to know these extraordinary wines and the terroir and winemaker they represent.
