Sylvain Bock is a zero/zero natural winemaker based in the Ardeche region of France, who has been making his own wine since 2010. His wines are rustic and soulful, with a real presence behind them. Grapes grown here are on basalt and limestone soils, with his main grapes being Grenache, Syrah, Merlot and Gamay. He is not too far away from Anders Frederik Steen and Le Mazel, of whom he actually leases a vineyard from after working together.
Trou Blanc is a blend of Chardonnay(70%) and Sauvignon Blanc(30%). A new cuvée for Sylvain, here the grapes were sourced from a limestone-soiled parcel, pressed directly and then transferred to stainless steel tank for élevage. A vibrant and delightful wine with playful tropical fruit tones complemented by a touch of tangy acidity.
