Mario Zanusso's idea is to craft a red wine consistent with the character of Ribolla Gialla (Schioppettino is also known as Ribolla Nera). This red, therefore, plays on acidity, salinity, moderate alcohol (12.5%), with a seducing strawberry color and a touch of spicy, peppery notes under the nose. It is perfectly in the style of i Clivi, meaning that it's exactly what would you'd expect from a red once you know their whites. 2019 is the first vintage, even thought Mario has been thinking about making this wine for a long time.
