Maurice Charleux is the appellation's best address. These are quality focused wines that display some of the Cote du Nuits characteristics such as that umami or sous-bois note that I love.. Maurice seems to achieve great ripeness and purity in his fruit but with the essential acidic structure for balance and ageing.
