The David Léclapart House, founded by the eponymous winemaker, is a winery renowned for its biodynamic approach and commitment to environmentally respectful viticulture. Located in the Montagne de Reims, at the heart of the Champagne region, the house produces exceptional champagnes that stand out for their authenticity, purity, and remarkable precision.
"Léclapart’s NV Blanc de Noirs L'Astre (2020), disgorged in April 2024, is made from Pinot Noir vinified entirely in wood and marks the first release bottled in dark glass, a decision made to prevent light-taint, which had previously impacted its consistency. There is a high-toned edge on the nose, but it doesn't dominate, offering aromas of ripe apple seeds, orange zest, dried flowers and smoke. It is medium- to full-bodied, taut and incisive, featuring lively acidity and assertive Pinot Noir phenolics that intensify its chalky character."
