It could be reasonably argued that Clos Tour de Curon is one of the greatest places on planet earth to grow the Chardonnay grape.
The wines of Stephane Tissot from this hallowed site have reached mythical status amongst collectors. The clarity, the extension of flavour, the intense saline thrust, and the sheer minerality of the Chardonnays from this vineyard see them age brilliantly out to two decades or more.
The vines are planted at an insanely high density (up to 27000 vines per hectare in certain pockets), the yields are kept incredibly low to maximise the power and concentration of the finished wine. It sits at the very apex of Chardonnay from anywhere in the world.
