Telmo Rodriguez is one of the finest Spanish winemakers. Telmo travelled and learnt for many years, perfecting his craft and gaining international recognition before returning home to his family winery in Rioja. Fascinated by the potential that Spain's different regions possess, Telmo along with Pablo Eguzkiza, make wines in a number of Spain's winemaking regions, like Navarra, Rueda, Valdeorras, Malaga and Gredos, using grapes native to these areas.
Gaba do Xil 'O Barreiro' is the new version of this wine from Telmo, is a single varietal Godello from the Valdeorras area of Galicia. Unoaked, with 4 months aging on lees in stainless steel, it is a very precise and mineral wine, showing a granitic saltiness and ripe citrus fruit in a really refreshing wine.
