Frédéric Lafarge and his wife Chantal, née Vial, purchased 4h/a of various plots in Beaujolais in 2014. They had 8 years of intense work before their efforts were fully rewarded in this the 2022 vintage. The wines are made using grapes biodynamically grown, about 25% of which are whole cluster. They are aged in used barrels from their Volnay domain. The results are 'old school' Beaujolais wines capable of lengthy ageing.
"Grown on south facing blue rock soil. Mid ruby in colour, an immediately more powerful wine, speaking for itself. The fruit is slightly more red than black though there is some of the latter, more acidity, with a slatey feeling as if licking the volcanic rock. Drink from 2027-2029. "
