Orange Wine .... A style that is becoming more popular. But what is it?
White wine is mostly made by pressing grapes and separating the resultant juice from the skins and fermenting and aging the juice to make the wine. But what if the Wine-maker left the skins to macerate and ferment along with the juice. This resultant wine would have an orange or amber colour, along with a much more tannic structure and a more textural palate. A marked difference no doubt!!!
