Another village and another mountain wine, the 2012 Fisterra is a red blend of ancient Galician varieties, Albarello, Sousón, Bastardo, Caíño Redondo and Mouratón from ten year old vines foot trodden and fermented in stainless steel and open barriques and aged in alternate phases in oak barrels and stainless steel. Despite being recently bottled the wine is quite expressive, with notes of wild berries, aromatic herbs and some notes of leather and Chinese ink that show an elegant rusticity that gives it a different personality. The palate is medium-bodied, with some earthy tannins, good acidity and tons of wild flavors of berries, plants and spices. A truly indigenous red. 2,000 bottles. I think it's worth waiting a little for the wine to develop some more complexity, as it has all the ingredients for a long life in bottle.- Luis Gutierrez
