The Monteraponi estate, spanning 200 hectares, of which 12 are under vine, boasts some of the highest vineyards in the Chianti Classico area. All work is done in the traditional way, with hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentations in concrete and ageing in large used French and Slavonian oak casks. The estate itself is a medieval hilltop village dating from the 10th century. It seems fitting that the wines are made in the tradtional Chianti style: racy, fresh and supremely elegant. 95% Sangiovese.
This Chianti Classico is a seriously elegant chianti. Made in the classic style, with firm yet silky tannins providing the frame for Sangiovese's cool, racy red-berried and rose hip fruit profile.
