Nuno Mira do O is in my opinion , a winemaker to watch. The Encruzado grape from Dao is capable of producing the most elegant white wines to come out of Portugal. This vintage the wine is a perfect 12.5% ABV yet has a textural component that adds just enough weight . He has a very low intervention approach and his first vintage with the Druida wines was in 2012. This wine was fermentented in concrete eggs for about 10 months on its fine lees. It undergoes MLF which softens the acidity and adds a roundness which is balanced by the purity and energy in the wine. This is a single vineyard wine grown on blue granite soil.
I'm not sure if Nuno will be happy with this comparison but the wines are quite Burgundian in style.
