Henriques & Henriques was founded on the island of Madeira in 1850 by Joao Joaquim Henriques, initiating the start of a rich history and a profound knowledge of the art of making Madeira. Currently under the leadership of Master Blender, Humberto Jardím, it is the only House to have consistently owned vineyards in Madeira, allowing them to control every aspect of the production process. They were the first producer to construct a purpose-built winery on the island and are innovative in both product development and design.
Aged for five years in oak barrels, this wine has a sweet fruity flavor with hints of cinnamon and a great depth of fruit. Intense aromas of dried fruits, especially figs, nuts and hints of caramel. A rich and spicy wine with a mellow and ripe finish reminiscent of a Christmas pudding. Long finish with, as always in Madeira, a very nice refreshing acidity.
