Heimann & Fiai are one of the most respected producers in Hungary. They follow organic principles in the vineyards. The Szekszard region is a very warm region but what defines their wine style is balance and freshness. their use of oak is always supportive and never intrudes . In this they use 1,000 litre used Hungarian oak and it is matured in these for 8 months. It is a sinlge plot wine, the Bati Kereszt vineyard is their coolest site at 280metres altitude and they harvest 3 weeks later than their other vineyards. the wine is defined by its tension and mineral expression. Kekfrankos is otherwise know as Blaufrankisch in Austria.
