Thomas Farge has taken over the small estate from his father. He has introduced sustainable farming techniques and only uses a horse to work the granite Northern Rhone slopes. St Peray is one of the smallest communes with only 98 h/a under vine. This is made using the two varietals allowed, Roussanne and Marsanne. He focuses on Roussanne , the varietal I favour, using 90% in the blend. It adds definition and structure, a refreshing element to the wine. It has honeysuckle aromas, stone orchard fruit and a defined mineral finish.
