Pedro M. Rodríguez Pérez started this project by picking up a family winemaking tradition that dates back to 1886. Previously the family made wine for their own consumption and sold to local cantinas. A meeting with enologist and family friend Luis Buitrón convinced Pedro to estate bottle their wines. To do this, the winery, which was renovated in 1991, has opted for traditional, artisanal and ecological production. All of this work was recognised by the prestigious Parker in 2008, and since then Guímaro wines have become an international benchmark of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra.
Guimaro Blanco is a wine based on Godello with approximately 35% of other native white grape varieties from different plots and villages. It is a wine that sings of years ago when wines like this were never varietal but always blends. A clean and fresh wine, that is fruit driven and has a lovely bay leaf herbaceousness to it.
