Rodrigo Mendez makes not just great Albarino but also much rarer Galician reds. Forjas des Salnes began as a garage winery in 2005 and was named after the ironworks set up by Rodrigo’s grandfather. To understand the true potential of the grapes Albarino, Caina, Espadeiro and Loureira Tinto and the region Rias Baixas it is simply essential to taste these wines.
"The nose of the 2020 Goliardo A Telleira Caíño made me think of a red Burgundy, perfumed and elegant, spicy and floral. The wine has an austere palate, light to medium-bodied with clean aromas and flavors, very fine tannins and an elegant finish. 600 bottles were filled in January 2023."
