This is a blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia and Sangiovese. The grapes are dried and raisined on straw mats until January/February after the harvest. Then pressed and the wines mature in cask for 7 years before bottling.
These sweet wines, amber or golden in colour, take on a honeyed and caramelised character, notes of toasted hazelnuts, toffee, raisins and sweet figs. Serve cool with fruit cake, festive puddings or indeed with hard cheeses such as parmesan .
