Nuno Mira do O is in my opinion , a winemaker to watch. The Encruzado grape from Dao is capable of producing the most elegant white wines to come out of Portugal. This vintage the wine is only 13% ABV yet has a textural component that adds just enough weight . He has a very low intervention approach and his first vintage with the Druida wines was in 2012. This wine was fermented in barrel, 30% of which was new, for about 10 months. The wine is defined by it's purity and energy which emphasises the terroir element in the wine. I'm not sure if Nuno will be happy with this comparison but the wines are quite Burgundian in style. The Grande Druida is aged for an additional 12 months in bottle. I felt the wine texturally was more 'Chassagne', Anthony felt the energy was more aligned to 'St Aubin'
