'En Gerlieux is across the river and canal from Sampigny, in Chassey le Camp, a big block that has both pinot and aligoté, the latter as 35 and 90 year old vines. This began life in old barrels and 30% in an earthenware jar, since racked to tank, has not yet been sulphured and may not be. I am impressed with the potential from this plot. Fuller yellow and a light but irrelevant oxidation. This is more tightly knit, loads of energy on the palate, fruit concentration and better acidity, a light healthy bitterness at the back.
