Macau, heart of Medoc, next to Margaux, vineyards planted on what used to be the marshland of the Gironde, clay-silt soil. The vines have an average age of 25 years, blend of 55% merlot, 35% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. Traditional winemaking after complete destemming, maceration of 3 to 4 weeks in temperature controlled vats. Ageing for 12 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new. The cuvee Prestige of Chateau Tayet is attractive and delicate and far superior to the average standard of a Bordeaux Superieur, this thanks to its rich colour, its intense and complex nose but especially its full-bodied taste with lots of texture and ripe tannins.
