This is the first vintage that Pierre Yves Clouet used the larger 500lt barrels which reduces the impact of the oak ageing.
"A blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Quinault L’Enclos is deep garnet-purple in color. It flies out with flamboyant scents of baked black plums, blackberry pie, and blueberry compote, followed by suggestions of licorice, spice box, and menthol. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing and vibrant with fine-grained tannins and bright crunchy black fruits, finishing on a minty note."
