"I tasted the 2021 Rompecepas Tinto Fino again instead of the just-bottled 2022 because the Tinto Fino from the zone needs more time, and last year I found the 2021 a little too wild. It comes from old vines on clay and limestone soils. The destemmed grapes fermented with a 10-day maceration, and the wine matured in used barrels of different sizes for 12 months followed by a further six months in stainless steel. It has settled with time in bottle, keeping some notes of meat and iron and is a little earthy and dusty, with some rusticity. 5,500 bottles were filled in September 2023."
