Bodegas Aalto was founded in 1999 by Mariano Garcia, after 30 years as technical director and world–renowned winemaker for Vega Sicilia with Javier Zaccagnini. Work at the vineyard is entirely manual to keep yields low, from especially selected clones of Tinto Fino best suited to Ribera del Duero's climate, so only the best concentrated and ripe fruit goes into the winemaking.
This is an incredibly aromatic vine, full of concentrated ripe red fruits, liquorice and spice. On the palate it is rich, powerful and full bodied yet with enough freshness in the fruit to keep the wine lively on the palate. The finish is long and persistent, and the perfect example of a modern, ripe Ribera del Duero.
