The Albamar winery is known for its expertise and work with the Albariño grape, which is the wineries speciality. The winery dates back 25 years and is home to a close-knit and friendly family spirit. Current winemaker Xurxo Alba Padin took over the running the family vineyard in 2006 after completely him oenology studies, and started creating these powerful, elegant and mineral driven Albarino wines. These are 'natural' wines, made with the minimum of intervention and using only indigenous yeasts.
"The wine is untouched throughout its élevage, the lees are never stirred, and it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. It's intensely salty, with citrus freshness and persistent, pungent flavors. It's long, focused, clean and precise, one of my favorite whites from Rías Baixas.
