Join us from 6:30pm on Wednesday the 17th of April, for a tasting of the wines from the world famous(if sometimes overlooked for Bordeaux and Burgundy,) Loire Valley, Hosted by Colm Douglas
Stretching over some 1000 miles, the Loire Valley runs from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Cote Roannaises in the east, and encompasses 87 appellations under both the AOC and IGP rules. From Muscadet to Anjou, through Touraine and Sancerre and further east, the wines of the Loire Valley come in a range of styles and from a wide variety of Grapes. Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Melon de Bourgogne, Gamay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc all make there home in this sprawling region, and sit along side varieties you may not have heard of so readily. So come and indulge in some wines you may know and some you may not, as we get to know all(or at least a lot) about the Loire Valley and it's wines.
