Located in the village of Sablet, in the southern Rhone valley, Domaine de Piaugier is a family run estate. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Jean Marc Autran and his wife, Sophie, cultivate 30 hectares of vines in Sablet and Gigondas. The wines are made in cellars constructed in 1947 by Jean Marc’s great grandfather. They grow a selection of traditional Rhone grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Counoise and Carignan. Vines are between 20 and 45 years old. A mix of soil types gives the wines their unique character. All grapes are hand harvested.
