A tiny domaine in the heart of Saint-Joseph, Martin and Christian Rouchier bottled the first wine of the old family vineyards in 2010. Today farmed and vinified without any additives, fully organically, the Rouchier wines are soulful and complex, with nearly unparalleled finesse in a region that so often favors bold, dark flavors. The husband and wife team farm an unbelievably tiny 1.5 hectares of land in Saint-Joseph, making them amongst the most minuscule (and exclusive) producers in the region. The trade-off for tending such a small vineyard is that it allows them to be not only organic and biodynamic, but to completely eschew the use of sulfur in their wines as well.
Antraigue is a plot planted in 2016, 100m from the famous 'La Chave', planted with Syrah, Viognier and Marsanne. Fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness, this viognier is wonderfully aromatic with apricot, pear and menthol notes, with a lovely weight on the palate.
