'Pale lemon colour, the nose shows a good balance of ripe fruit with some intensity, then an explosion on the palate, predominantly white fruit, ripe apple and fresher pears, but with a couple of bacon aromatics as well. A slight reductive note too. Very complex, excellent volume, quite delicious. Very long finish. Though this is an early site it seems to be suited by the vintage. Tasted: October 2021' JM
The domaine has been organic since 2006 and in conversion to Biodynamic since 2010. Benoit Riffault from Sancerre is the wine-maker. The Champ-Canet 1er Cru site is a warmer site on the border with Meursault and is creamier and a little richer than their other 1er Cru wines.
