Fabrizio Iuli is based in a tiny town in the Monferrato region of Piedmonte. It is considered the home of the Barbera grape and as such Fabrizio refers to himself as a ‘barberista'. His Co-op has extended beyond Barbera however and he makes fantastic wines with a number of ancient and almost abandoned Piedmontese grapes. Fermented and aged in cement vats.
The Umberta named after a friend, is Fabrizio's house expression of Barbera. Fresh, fruity, clean and easy to drink, this is a delightfully approachable wine.
