1006 Vines de Loire is run by Pauline Lair and is name after the Length of the Loire river. Her wines are a reflection of the whole of the Loire, by selecting growers with a respect for the terroir and an adherence to the principles of organic viticulture. Her wines are all spontaneously fermented, with minimal elevage and a respect for the terroir.
'Cobalt' is 100% Cabernet Franc, grown around the southern part of Chinon, where the sandy soils on clay and limestone, give wonderful fruitiness and silky tannic structure that is quintessentially Chinon, even if Pauline doesn't mention it on the label!!
