Alsace

Alsace is a region that straddles it's history of being influenced by two of Europes major powers; France and Germany. Along with it's food, Alsace's wine is perfect example of this. German grape varieties like Riesling and Gewurztraminer dominant, but they are made in a typically French style, where the grapes sugar are fermented fully, creating dry and full bodied wines, unlike their lighter, sweeter German cousins.

The wines of Alsace are all about aromatics and ripeness. They are floral on the nose, with citrus and orchard fruits spilling from the glass and on the palate there is wonderful texture, with spicy and smoky notes.
