"From an early and a late selection and picked at an average of 110° Oechsle, the 2021 Brauneberg Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese *** (fuder 38) started fermenting late (after three weeks) and offers a spicy, very delicate and refreshing botrytis aroma with zesty/peppery notes of broken slate, crushed lemon fruit, baby pineapple aromas and brown sugar notes. On the palate, this is a concentrated and lush but also refined and savory undercover BA whose fine acidity cuts like a Japanese knife through perfectly concentrated apricot jelly fruit. This is a highly refined Auslese that belongs to the highlights of this rare 2021 category. It is stimulatingly bitter on the intense and aromatic finish. In 20-30 years, this should be a perfect wine to match roast wild boar. The acidity (12.7 grams per liter) uplifts the extract and residual sugar (120 grams per liter) and gives an almost dry finish even today. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork."
