Purchased by Peter Breuer in the early 20th century, the Vineyard has history back to 1880. Now run by Theresa Breuer and her uncle Heinrich, following the passing of her father Bernhard in 2004, the estate is farmed organically and is certified Fair n Green. With holdings in the three greatest Grand Cru sites of Rudesheim - Berg Schlossberg, Berg Roseneck and Berg Rottland, and the Monopol site Nonnenberg in Rauenthal, these exceptional are home to the some of finest wines produced in Germany.
The 2020 Pfaffenwies is vinified in oak, and it can be noted on the nose, along with a lemony citrusness and a flinty minerality. On the palate it is full-bodied, fresh and mineral with power, texture a salty minerality and huge length and complexity.
