Coto de Gomariz is the oldest registered vineyard reserve in the Spanish peninsula, where wine has been made since the 10th Century. Previously the vineyards were all owned by ecclesiastical orders but now they have private orders. Coto de Gomariz is owned by the Carreiro family who in the 1970's began to recover the native grapes that once flourished here. Since the early 2000's the vineyards have been farmed organically and bio dynamically.
'Flower and the Bee' is made from local grape variety Treixadura. Its a powerfully scented wine with orchard and citrus aromas. On the palate there are juicy stone fruits, with orange and honeysuckle flavours and a crisp, fresh minerality.
