Marcel Lapierre took over this estate in 1973 and in 1981 encountered Jules Chauvet who many regard as the father of 'Natural Wine'. Marcel adopted the principles espoused by Jules. Marcel was a member of the 'Gang of Four' but sadly died in 2010. The estate is now run by his son and daughter, Mathieu and Camille. The wines are made using whole cluster fermentation à l’ancienne, maintained at low temperatures and aged in casks ranging from 3-13 years old. Little or no SO2 is used and the vines are organically managed in granite and gravel.
