Founded in 1860, and handed over from father to son, this excellent Domaine produces age-worthy wines that reach their peak after 6 or 7 years, in an authentic, traditional Châteauneuf du Pape fashion. Nicolas Boiron, representing the 5th generation, is now in charge, his 27-ha vineyards consists of 40 parcels in the appellation, and the average age of the vines is 50 years.
Bosquet des Papes Châteauneuf du Pape Traditionnelle is well-structured, concentrated, and full-bodied, it offers a classic southern Rhone aromatic display of ground pepper, garrigue, cherry liqueur, plums, and cedar with sweet, expansive, and pure fruit flavours and excellent delineation.
A blend of 75% Grenache and the rest mostly Syrah and Mourvedre, with small amounts of Counoise, Vaccarese and Cinsault, this wine, aged in foudres, has an open-knit, fragrant bouquet of black cherries, spicy, peppery herbs and licorice. It is medium-garnet in color, full-bodied, generous, complex, evolved Chateauneuf du Pape.
