Daniel Landi comes from a family of grape growers. Having made his name as a winemaker at Bodegas Jimenez-Landi, a winery he founded with his cousin, he set out to establish his own label. With land he inherited from his family, along with plots he has purchased or leased, Dani has set himself the task of making great wine with Garnacha, a grape long regarded as a workhorse in Spain; wines that can regarded with the best Pinot Noir Burgundy has to offer or the Syrahs of Northern Rhone.
'Las Ireulas' is a muscular expression of Garnacha. From 60+ year old vines, this is a beautiful elegantly aromatic wine, reminiscent of the Northern Rhone. This is a wine of finesse and subtleness , but also of depth, with great mineral structure so characteristic of wines of the Gredos. The 2019 vintage received 97/100 pts from Luis Gutiérrez for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
