From the village of Puisseguin near St Emilion, the Amoreau family, who have been growing vines naturally since 1610, farm biodynamically using 70% merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. 2016 is a real favourite of mine. Fruit ripened evenly and retained the structural acidity. This is plump, with black cherry and savoury notes, spice, old wood and leather. Nicely evolved but with years of ageing capacity. Delicious.
