Julien Altaber, grew up in the Maconnais, before turning to viticulture at the age of 16. Having trained with a trading house in Beaune, he continued his education working the harvest with Dominique Derain in Saint Aubin, who encouraged him to but some grapes and make his own wine, first at Dominique's before acquiring his own equipment and vines.
This Coteaux Bourguignons is a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay, fermented partly in whole cluster and aged for 8 months in a combination of foudres and barrel. It is bright and floral and full of wonderful fresh and juicy fruit. Delicious.
