Richard Kelley Master of Wine makes this wine from the De Morgenzon estate from 100% Syrah on the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch using 100% hand harvested grapes. He uses 15% whole bunch and ferments in stainless steel and then ages the wine in a mixture of concrete, stainless steel and used oak barrels for 12 months and bottles without filtration. The wines have lovely 'Old-world' typicity, savoury notes with ripe berried fruit .
